On Wednesday, Nov. 13, we welcomed four distinguished guests to the ranch for a discussion on topics ranging from genomics and EPDs, to the role of Brahman cattle in the Beef Industry with an emphases on feeding, management and carcass grading ability.
The evening kicked off with a Genetics & EPD Keynote featuring presentations from industry leaders Dr. Joe Paschal and A.J. Knowles who dove into genetics and the important role EPDs play in cattle selection. Followed by our "Beef is Better with Brahman" series with presentations from Alyson Fontenot of Texas A&M University on the impact Brahman cattle have on the beef industry from a carcass standpoint, and Mike Risica of Rio Beef Feed Yard discussed how Brahman cattle perform in the feed lot.
These educational seminars left our tour guests with a fresh perspective on the important role Brahman cattle play in the beef industry!
